The United Nations has a 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with 17 goals, targets within each goal, and indicators for each target. It is a massive amount of data to track worldwide, but certainly a worthy cause to improve our global community. My personal goals with this visualization were to practice creating a slopegraph and use the Datawrapper tool. While the number of countries where recycling is tracked may not make this an ideal visualization type for these data, it does have a hover tooltip where you can focus on the trend for a single country. The graph does not include data for years in between 2015 and 2019; I chose to focus on the broader trend to display where each country is headed.

I’ve since updated the visualization to highlight countries at different levels of electronic waste recycling.
